From my first journals and essays, my writing process has changed drastically. Back then, I had no clue what I was doing. I did not have a writing format for my essays. I’m still having a little trouble with writing my essays, but it is getting a lot easier. I have to thank my teacher for teaching me the Toulmin Model of Argument and the Question Tree. Without her, I would not know any strategies to accomplish my argumentative essay.

I now know how to research for my papers. From previous papers, I do not remembering having any experience looking at sources other than online. I can physically go to the library and look for hard copy books. I know the importance of citing my papers and how to cite them correctly depending on the style. I’ve also completely wiped out “putting the citations in alphabetically in order” for the Works Cited page out of my head. It has been a long time since I have learned these tips, but it is good to get caught back up again. Hopefully, I will try to memorize these notes and try not to forget about it for future papers.

For my argumentative paper, I think it was difficult to know what I was going to talk about. I had a different approach from my previous journals. When my teacher was explaining how to use the Question Tree, she was using another classmate’s topic to help us understand better. The whole time she was explaining, I thinking of how I’m going to use this for my paper. I was stuck for a while on planning on what to write. I did not know how I could use this format for my essay. It could be my topic that was giving me a hard time.

Writing my Micro-Ethnography paper was a little difficult. I have never done an observation essay before, so it was hard trying to put that into an essay. In the last few journals, I told you about my writing process. Its pretty much similar as I felt but I learned a little bit more.

I believe my writing process is still the same. Before I write, I do not brainstorm or outline. I see the prompt and I just write. After writing a couple of sentences, I have to double-check it for any mistakes. Sometimes if I’m feeling little adventurous, I check my writing in Grammarly. Every week, it has gotten easier to write these blog posts. I know what to expect when I do these writing assignments. Its sort of like a habit now.

After my class on Wednesday, my professor cleared up some things that I was uncertain about. She said to write about what I observed and why it was important enough to notice it. If there was something in the observation and if it wasn’t in the observation anymore, how would it affect the story? After my class ended, I had to somewhat include the Toulman Argumentative Tactics. I don’t think that anything has changed in my writing. I use the same vernacular in every situation.

I know these changes had to occur. If this is what my professor was teaching in class, I think it was important enough to include it in the paper. I need to work on using the Toulman Argumentative Tactics. I need to get use to it for future essays.

It was hard to use the Toulman Argumentative Tactics correctly. When I was using this process, I didn’t know if I was doing it right. It was troubling to do the rebuttal. How do I know what my audience doesn’t believe in my words.
